About Us

Jim Voltz, Cordon Bleu trained chef and long time Crystal Lake summer resident, will be conducting a limited number of cooking classes during the 2010 summer season.  Jim is currently working on the menus and schedule for the new season and will post them on this website when they are complete.  I can tell you that the first class will be all about brunch featuring recipes from Jim's second cookbook, "Brunch on the Porch" scheduled to be published in the Spring of 2010.   Just like the 2008 and 2009 seasons, students in next summer's cooking classes will learn how to master the demonstrated recipes and gain techniques that will benefit them in all their cooking going forward.  Students will be able to sample all dishes along with the recommended wines and will receive detailed recipes to take home with them.  More good news, Betsie Hosick has once again graciously offered to host all the 2010 classes in her beautiful home overlooking Lake Michigan.
